Paper Pop-Ups
Taking Paper to a different level

The Live truck was here 5am to video the interview by famous Doug Emblidge Channel 13 TV News.  It was a super interview with the video/sound photographer Terry Hancock.  He got great close up shots of the pop-ups from different angles and even included some of my mechanical cards.

They also interviewed my Daughter and Granddaughter, age 9, who helped start all this.
A specialist Matt McGarvey, brought parts for my granddaughter's wheelchair a 45 minute drive from his office...and didn't want any money.
    My daughter suggested I do a pop-up wheelchair as a thank you...she knew I liked doing pop-ups.
Matt liked the thank you pop-up made of his business cards.
I entered the pop-up wheelchair in a contest and won.  Featured on Robert Sabuda's web-site as:
Artist of the month November, 2007
So the interview would never have come about if it wasn't for my Daughter and Granddaughter.

During the TV interview they showed the action of my cards opening-- doing the pop-up thing.  My Victorian mechanical card looked really nice as Terry did a close up of the card with curtains closed, then showed the action of the tab being pulled to reveal the inside of the house.

It was an interesting experience as I'd never been interviewed before.

I hope, that when I get nervous in the future...my lip will quit sticking to my teeth.  I don't think I stuttered a lot, so life is good.  Now I understand why some folks don't watch themselves on any kind of video.

When in doubt, smile.  Wishing you -no doubts and lots of smiles.
